‘INS RANA” arrives at Jeju for participating at International Fleet Review

            Indian Naval Ship ‘INS RANA” with 363 persons on board, arrived at Jeju Naval Base on October 08, beginning an eight-day visit to the Republic of Korea, for participation in the International Fleet Review- 2018, being hosted by ROK Navy. Besides, participation in the International Fleet Review, the Indian Navy Ship will also hold professional interactions with senior leadership of ROK Navy and will call on Political leadership and dignitaries of the ROK Government. During her stay at the Jeju port,  the INS Rana crew will participate in the Navy Day Parade, being organized as part of IFR,  hold professional, cultural and sport exchanges with the participating countries and will also hold an open ship visit for the officers and crew of all participating countries and the civil populace of Jeju.  On its way out, on 15 November 2018, the Indian Navy Ship is also expected to hold PASSEX exercise with the ROK Navy.
           
The Indian Navy has extensive interactions with ROK Navy. Three ROK Navy Ships visited Indian ports last year. India and ROK also concluded staff level talks in September this year, which focused on enhancing engagement between the two Navies in all planes. The current ship visit seeks to enhance maritime cooperation between the two Navies and  will further bolster the strong bonds of friendship between the two countries and contribute to security and stability in the region and the world at large. Bilateral relations between India and ROK have been traditionally strong with cultural, religious and economic ties dating back 2000 years. India-ROK relations have been strengthened in recent years due to a vibrant economic relationship and growing convergence on political, regional and security issues.
