On the occasion of 161st Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Seoul organized a Cultural event paying tribute to Gurudev on May 6, 2022 at Lisbon Stage, The Nami Island. The event was jointly organized in association with Embassy of Bangladesh, Tagore Society of Korea and Indian Art Museum and Nami Island Arts and Education Inc. H. E. Sripriya Ranganathan, Ambassador of India and H.E. Mr. M. Delwar Hossain, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Republic of Korea gave the congratulatory remarks. Artists and performers from Korea presented cultural performances based on Tagore’s Song and Dance. Members of Tagore Society in Korea also recited Poems from Gitanjali. On May 9, 2022, the members from Indian and Bangladesh Embassy and Tagore Society of Korea paid floral tribute to Tagore’s bust at Daehangno’s main street in Seoul. The bust was a gift from Government of India to the people of Korea in 2011 installed on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.
