Passport application by postal service

Applicants have option to avail some of the Passport related services by post. In order to apply by post, applicants are advised to fill the online application form completely. Incomplete application form will not be processed and send back to the applicant. Applications not meeting above requirements will result in delays. If applications are incomplete, it will be returned through courier service. Courier charges would be paid by the applicant.

Eligible categories for availing the Postal services are-

a) Reissuance of Passport on Expiry/Exhaustion of pages/Misc. Services such as inclusion of Spouse name, Change of Address or any other endorsement

b) Fresh Passport for Newly Born Child.

c) Reissuance of Passport for Minor.

Note- Embassy has not authorized any travel agent for submission of Passport application forms. Application is to be submitted at the Passport Service Counter in the Embassy by the applicant personally or by post. The applicant is required to pay the exact fee as motioned in the website as per the applicable category and enclose the fee deposit receipt with the application. Embassy will not be responsible for any lost /damage of Passport and Passport application form/documents in the transit process. Fee once paid is not reimbursable, even if the application is rejected. If the documents are insufficient /incomplete, the applicant may need to appear for interview. Embassy reserves the right to call any Passport applicant for interview. Passport applications in lieu of lost/stolen/damaged passports, illegal/overstaying and G-1 visa holders will not be accepted by Post as personal appearance of the applicant is mandatory.

Documents mentioned in all categories of Passport services are required to be self-attested. If the applicant is minor both the parents should sign in all supporting documents.

Two self addressed good quality envelop.

Duly filled Annexure-D’ or Annexure-C should be signed by both Parents in case of minors.

Duly filled Personal Particulars Form (Form No. 2 ) should be signed

Printout of duly filled online Birth Registration Form on MHA’s website (Link: https://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in/Home2.aspx?formcode=09) for minor. Signature of parents in part-I and II, and photograph of the baby should be affixed.

Fee deposit receipt in original.
