Message for ICCK Annual Report 2018

Posted on: January 01, 2019 | Back | Print

Dear Friends,

We have set ourselves an ambitious agenda for our future trade and economic cooperation. During President Moon’s visit to India in July 2018, it was decided that India and South Korea would increase bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030 – a sizeable step up from the $20 billion today. In order to achieve this target, we must, both at the Indian Embassy and at the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ICCK), redouble our efforts to strengthen trade and economic ties, connect Government and business leaders and encourage partnerships in sunrise sectors.

In 2018, ICCK has worked hard to support Korean enterprises seeking to enter the Indian market by promoting strong relationships with the Korean provincial governments, associations and Indian companies working in Korea.  In 2019, the focus should be on supporting Korean companies, particularly small and medium enterprises, to enter the Indian market and on providing a sound platform for better and wider exposure of opportunities in India amongst the Korean business community.

I congratulate all members of the ICCK for the active and constructive role that it has played so far.  I  urge each and every one of you to participate enthusiastically in its future events so that we are able to achieve all that we have set out to do.
